The type of personal information I collect

I currently collect and process the following information:

Name
Email address
Phone number (when provided) for course bookings
Postal address (when provided) for live online courses
Courses and workshops booked

How I get the personal information and why I have it

Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:

To contact you about courses and workshops you’ve booked
To send you postal materials for live online courses
To record which courses and workshops you’ve already done

I also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

Wufoo forms: This gathers the information you enter on the form and also the IP address used to enter the information. You can read their privacy policy here.
Mailchimp: When you sign up to the newsletter, Mailchimp gathers your email address and some behaviour patterns like how often you open the emails (if your email provider gives it that information). You can read their privacy policy here.

I use the information that you have given me in order to get your workshop / course bookings and votes, and contact you about those, and to send you the parts of the newsletter you’ve subscribed to.

I do not share this information with any other organisations or individuals.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information is your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting megan@thewritersgreenhouse.co.uk.

How I store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on password-protected devices and secure cloud-storage (Dropbox), in digital form only.

I keep your name, contact details, and course/workshop bookings unless you request I delete it. I will then dispose of your information by permanently deleting it.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.
