Write Your Bio: Tues 17 December

On Friday, as I blithely browsed my bio doc to pick one of the right length for an article, it occurred to me: bios are such an obstacle to sending out writing submissions, at the start! This used to be agony. Now I just open the doc.

SO: I’m running a quickie let’s-do-it session, an hour on Zoom after work, and I’ll take you through writing your bio. At the end of the hour, you’ll have two bios, 90 words and 30 words. Then when you next want to submit writing, you just open your bio doc. Blithely!

THIS WORKSHOP IS OVER.
If you're disappointed this workshop is in the past, you can vote for it to run in Autumn or Winter 2024. You can also join the newseletter for news of future workshops.

  • When: Tues 17 December, 5:30–6:30pm UK time
  • Where: On Zoom, join from anywhere
  • Price: £20
  • Numbers: No minimum or maximum on places

Workshop regulars: in the same let’s-just-do-it spirit, I won’t be creating the usual subsite for handouts or summary booklets, so that I can make it happen for you, fast and super-affordable. You won’t need those anyway, though, because you’ll write your bios in the session.

  • What’s a bio? A short paragraph about yourself, which journals and agents ask for when you send writing in.
  • I don’t think I’ll need one for a while… Honestly, if you want to send writing out in future, I’d recommend doing it now, with low stakes. Then when you do need it, it’s ready to go. Same as I suggest for synopses.

Let's do it!
